I could be your child. You may not know it but I have a brain tumor. I didn't ask for it. I did nothing wrong or different to get it. The doctors don't know how or why, it just happened. I've been told that it is inoperable and there is no cure. You may not know it, but you know me...I could be your child.
	27 December 2009 Almost A New Year More than 50 families (that we know of) have been shattered this year. More than 50 kids have been lifted up from dipg alone. I won't go into a rant about what's not being done to stop this disease from killing our children; mostly because it takes too much energy and energy isn't something that is in great abundance. 	If you have found and are reading this site, chances are that your child has or you have intimate knowledge of a child that has been newly diagnosed with a brain tumor. If so, I am truly sorry that you have found us. Further, chances are you have never met or had any knowledge of a child with a brain tumor until recently. At least that is how it was for us. On October 19, 2005, a mass was discovered in the brain stem of our son JJ. Two days later, he was diagnosed with a rare and inoperable brain tumor - a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (dipg). We, like you, went on an internet quest for additional knowledge. Many sites were discovered and researched, each providing information and support. It is our intent to join those who have dedicated themselves to helping others and finding the cure. We sincerely hope this site serves as an information portal and becomes someplace you want to come for emotional support, information, links and the experiences of children who have been there.
